FOX A1

A nuclear transcription factor that regulates gene expression in epithelial tissues, including the prostate, breast, and liver. FOXA1 is involved in hormone receptor signaling and differentiation, and its expression is useful in the classification of hormone-driven cancers, such as breast and prostate carcinomas, as well as in research on tumor biology and transcriptional regulation.

Specimen Requirements

Tissue Block: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor block preferred.

Unstained Slides: Recommended 2 charged slides per stain requested (minimum of 1 slide per stain), baked or unbaked.

Fixation: Tissue must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for 6–72 hours.

Storage and Transportation

Use cold pack for transport. Make sure cold pack is not indirect contact with specimen.
